Some work, but most don\u2019t \u2013 at least, not to the extent advertised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, most methods have some very striking similarities, which numerous marketers are employing \u2013 and that work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog post, I want to look into the effectiveness of some of these proposed methods \u2013 and find which tactics can actually help you <strong>improve your Instagram growth strategy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why would you want to dedicate your time and other resources to <a href=\"https:\/\/brand24.com\/blog\/instagram-marketing-strategy\/\" title=\"\">Instagram strategy<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The simple answer is \u2014because Instagram growth can have a positive impact on your bottom line. Instagram is the place where your existing and potential customers hang out. Neil Patel, too, <a href=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/blog\/how-to-get-300-real-targeted-instagram-followers-per-day\/#Step6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">recommends this<\/a> \u2013 it looks better, for one, and secondly, as he puts it, hashtags aren\u2019t there to be seen so much as they are there for people to be able to find your content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"yourinstagramschedule\">Your Instagram schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>OK, brace yourself; you\u2019re probably going to have to increase the amount of content you publish on Instagram on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One image or 2 a day is simply not enough; there\u2019s too much content, too many people who are posting more and better content and if you can\u2019t keep up, yours will probably just get lost in people\u2019s Insta feeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, apart from the obligatory 1-2 photos per day, Instagram experts recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5-30 <a href=\"https:\/\/brand24.com\/blog\/more-views-on-instagram-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Instagram Stories<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 live video per day (Neil Patel also recommends you start it at the exact same time each day, so you can get more people to join in every day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This might sound like a lot of work, but it doesn\u2019t necessarily have to be; Stories are easy to create and live videos don\u2019t have to be too long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideally, you should plan your Instagram content strategy in advance, so that you are ready for anything, anytime:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Candid shots from around the office as well as from outside the office (teambuilding trip, anyone?)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photos of your lunches \u2013 there\u2019s nothing that performs better on Instagram than food. Except maybe for cute dogs. And cute cats. And other cute animals. You could have loads of followers, tens of thousands, but if they couldn\u2019t care less about you, your business, or what you post, what\u2019s the point? It might look (and feel) good to see you have so many followers, but it\u2019s actually much better to have fewer, but very engaged followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surprisingly, I don\u2019t find this to be the case on other social networks \u2013 or, at least, not to the extent they were before. For example, in my case, some of my posts that have the least engagement actually drive the most traffic, while posts with plenty of comments and likes, barely get any traffic. It\u2019s a strange time for social media marketing; but alas, I\u2019ve digressed enough \u2013 Instagram, as opposed to Facebook and Twitter, still thrives on engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, as I was saying earlier, find top competitors who have over 50k followers and plenty of engagement on their posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve found at least 10 accounts, write them down in a spreadsheet and start following their followers \u2013 as I mentioned before, never more than 50 per hour, as per Instagram\u2019s regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"beactiveandengage\">Be active and engage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not going to spend too long on this as the headline really says it all: be active and engage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not enough to just post content, you also need to engage \u2013 and it\u2019s a great way to reach new people and get targeted users to follow you and engage with you back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Always put 5 or so minutes aside every day to engage: leave comments, respond to each and every comment you get on your content, like images and videos, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will not only help you boost your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lilachbullock.com\/improve-instagram-engagement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Instagram engagement<\/a>, but it can also help you get more followers on Instagram \u2013 so, if you find any users that fit with your audience, reach out to them by liking their content and leaving comments. It will put you on their radar \u2013 and it could lead to a follow-back from a genuinely interested and engaged user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"crosspost\">Cross-post<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You probably are active on more than one social media platform. That means you can easily post the same content on different social media channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Instagram growth hack has a few benefits. You will be able to engage your followers across different platforms and direct some of the traffic towards your Instagram account. Remember to offer exclusive content on Instagram, so your potential followers have an incentive to follow your account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take a look at other visual social media platform, Pinterest.
