Brexit is happening. June 24 was a memorable day in both European and global politics. On that day, the people of Great Britain decided to be the first country to leave the European Union. Leave won by 52% to 48%.
Shortly after the results, British Pound fell 11%, reaching the lowest point since 1985. The Prime Minister of Great Britain, David Cameron, resigned as he doesn’t support Brexit. Nicola Sturgeon, Scottish First Minister, claims that Scotland would be seeking to leave the UK as the majority of Scots want to remain in the EU.
Brexit is hot news bound to resonate for some time, as the opinions are divided. At a time of the Internet, it’s easier to read the public mood. It’s even easier with a social listening tool like ours.
