How Janusz Radek Engages Fans Online and Collects Millions of Views on YouTube With Social Listening

Janusz Radek's songs are not among the hits that are repeated several times a day on major radio stations to boredom. Nevertheless, to the musician's own surprise, the song "I regret every day without you" amassed nearly 900,000 views on YouTube in February 2017 (now over a million). This is more than his promoted album singles.

The mystery of the song's success was solved by the creation of an account on Brand24. This is because it turned out that it was willingly shared by Janusz's fans, something the musician himself was quite unaware of.

However, the discussion about Janusz Radek is not only about this song. It also concerns his other songs, projects, concerts or albums. There are from a dozen to several hundred mentions of Janusz a day on the web, which Brand24 collects in one place.

I started to look into it and I was drawn into this knowledge. I realistically see who my listeners are, what songs and information they share. Sometimes I respond and comment. I already do this outside of the official site, direct contact is by far the best form of communication and works well in eliminating unnecessary distance between me and the listener.

Janusz uses the data collected with Brand24 to interact with his fans. He usually leaves a like or comment under their posts as a thank you for appreciating his work - and he doesn't lack a sense of humor. This alone is a very nice gesture for his audience. Sometimes, however, he surprises them much more by inviting them to his concerts. The fans' reactions are priceless!


Janusz shows by his actions that he wants to be as close as possible to his listeners. He actively maintains his fan page; he offers a newsletter on his website, whose subscribers receive additional information and materials; he conducts "house parties" or mini-live concerts from his home.

All of this is done to bypass the rigid framework of artist-consumer media communication. "Janusz is very open to all ideas that bring him closer to his audience. The first such step was the 'house parties,' then the 'newsletter,' and finally Brand24," says his manager Olga Jakubiec.
