2. Use Cases

Lead Generation Through Competitive Analysis

Traffit tracks a few key competitors' keywords to gain insights and find new leads. 

As Mick explains, they started monitoring competitors before their own brand name because it’s such a valuable lead-generation strategy.

“For example, when competitors post a job, the URL is something like brand24.traffit.com/…, etc. That allowed me to track competitors' keywords and instantly get a list of companies recruiting regularly, which shows they might be interested in Traffit since they’re using similar tools,” Mick explains.

When my team finishes with inbound leads and other tasks, and they’re looking for more potential customers, I just say, ‘Go to Brand24.’ We get hundreds of potential leads every month thanks to this tool.

As for the results? 

Mick explains, “When inbound leads run dry, we used to rely on cold calling, which had a very low success rate—only 2% of calls turned into conversations with our sales team. But now, using leads we discover through Brand24, our engagement rate has jumped to 30%.

That’s because these prospects are already qualified. My team can reach out with a clear reason, like seeing that a company is hiring for a specific role and using a competitor’s service. 

We start the conversation by showing how Traffit can offer value, making it far more effective than cold calling, where we often had no real starting point. Brand24’s data gives us those insights right from the start, and it’s been a game-changer for us.”

Lead generation through market research

Mick points out that there’s always someone online discussing the problems your business solves. 

One of his first actions was to track keywords like ‘ATS’ (Applicant Tracking System) and ‘recruitment tools’. By doing this, he was able to identify decision-makers actively seeking solutions in real time—people asking for recommendations on the very tools Traffit provides. 

This straightforward strategy put Traffit in front of potential leads, connecting them with prospects actively seeking solutions. As a result, their outreach became more relevant and effective, and Traffit quickly gained high-quality leads.

Market research is also a powerful way to:

  • discover whether there are trends you can tap into to win new leads. 

Traffit did just that when they noticed a growing number of recruiters promoting their books. Instead of just watching from the sidelines, they took action and launched the Traffit Library, where they bought these books and now lend them out for free.

Marketing insights through brand monitoring

At Traffit, brand monitoring plays a crucial role in their marketing strategy, and Brand24 has become a vital tool for tracking the company's online presence. As a startup, Traffit takes a creative and sometimes unconventional approach to marketing. 

They often run campaigns without relying on traditional tracking methods, such as collecting email addresses or using UTM codes. This approach can create gaps in their ability to track how marketing efforts convert into customers.

Brand24 steps in to bridge those gaps. 

When Traffit notices an increase in direct or organic traffic, the team uses Brand24 to track mentions of its brand across the web.

This allows them to see if an influencer has picked up their name or if users are discussing their campaigns organically. By using Brand24, Traffit gains valuable insights into the impact of its marketing, even when traditional tracking tools fall short.

“When we see those increases in direct or organic traffic or leads from those sources, we go to Brand24, and we look for mentions of the Traffit keywords in various places. Maybe an influencer picked us up, or maybe more regular people are talking about Traffit because of a campaign we did", adds Mick.

3. Cross-Team Use

At Traffit, Brand24 has become more than a marketing tool—it’s a valuable resource for nearly every department. Initially adopted by marketing, the CEO quickly got involved in tracking brand mentions, and the sales team started using it to find and engage leads faster. 

As Mick explains, “There’s a big difference between the company using the product and finding value from the product,” and each team at Traffit has found its own way to do just that.

The customer success team benefits from alerts that go directly to their channels, allowing them to “click on those links” and respond to user mentions quickly, even without logging into Brand24. 

The product and R&D team also use it to keep up with market demand and feature requests, helping them shape the product to fit current needs.

With Brand24 now used by nearly every team, Traffit has created a unique synergy where each department gains specific value. 

Mick says it best: “There’s really nice cohesion… everybody’s taking their own individual value away from it,” making Brand24 an essential tool for everything from lead generation to market insights.

4. Favourite Features

We asked Mick what he loves most about Brand24, and his first answer was the Slack integration.

"We’re not refreshing Brand24 constantly—Slack handles that. It’s great because we catch interesting mentions fast and, more importantly, can react immediately", says Mick.
