Have you seen the green owl taking over TikTok? Duolingo’s funny viral videos have garnered more than 10 million followers and 200 million likes. Turning language learning into entertainment, the brand has built a base of 80 million active users. This shows how a bold social media strategy can turn a brand into a cultural phenomenon!
If you’re here, I’m sure you already know how crucial social media is and just need a boost. In this article, I’ve included simple social media tips that will allow you to do just that!
Social media tips are minor tweaks but can create big changes in your strategy. The secret? They’re quick, easy to apply, and highly effective when used right! In a world where attention is the new currency, a strong social media presence isn’t just an advantage—staying relevant, engaging your audience, and driving results is necessary.
I created this list based on my experience and other marketers through research. My goal was to make it a simple, easy-to-use source of inspiration for you.
Let’s dive in!
17 Key Social Media Tips & Strategies for 2025
01 Prioritize short-form video
It’s no secret that short videos dominate most social media platforms today.
They quickly capture attention, keeping your audience spends more time engaged with your content. They are great for educating your audience and building a strong community in a natural and fun way.
If you still don’t use them, it’s a great moment to start!
How to do it:
- Keep it short and catch their attention in the first seconds
- Make sure your video is consistent with your brand – quality over quantity always wins, even with short videos!
- Use captions and text overlays. Many users watch without sound, so make sure they also will get your video.
- End with a call to action – ask questions, encourage comments, or direct viewers to the next post.
A great example of a small brand using short-form video is Scrub Daddy. Originally a Shark Tank product, they have mastered TikTok and Instagram Reels with funny, engaging, and sometimes wacky videos that consistently go viral.

02 Use trending audio
It’s an easy way to make algorithms to boost your content to a broader target audience.
But It’s also a great approach to connect with your target audience on a deeper level. People are likelier to stay engaged, watch longer, and even start singing along as they rewind.
And let’s be honest – who hasn’t found themselves singing the words of a song on social media platforms?
How to do it:
- For inspiration, I like to check TikTok’s popular sounds section and Reels suggestions, as well as Discovery Weekly on Spotify or Apple Music.
- Make sure the video matches the audio—a breakup song in a Valentine’s Day promotion is not the best choice.
- Use music that is consistent with your brand.
If you add a song to a roll or story but don’t want it to dominate your voice (or just want to keep it subtle), you can adjust the sound levels while uploading.
Simply tap the note icon 🎵 at the bottom of the screen, select the slider for the added song, and change the volume to your desired level.
And voila! This way, you can get the benefits of the algorithm without the actual loud playback.
One brand using audio trends? Huera’s content.
Their social media strategy perfectly combines viral audio with humor. They often follow trends, using popular music and voiceovers to create related, engaging content that accumulates millions of views.
So next time you’re scrolling, pay attention to the sounds you hear most often – they could be your next viral moment!
03 Be selective
Jumping on popular buzzwords on social media platforms or post formats can increase brand awareness and engagement.
Even if this sounds attractive, who doesn’t want to create the next viral? It’s a key to putting quality over quantity. Following trends that don’t align with your brand message to stay relevant can confuse your audience and undermine your brand identity.
Brand stories aren’t just ads, trending challenges, or sales pitches — they reflect who your brand is, its culture, and its values.
Before I schedule a post, I always ask myself these three questions:
- Is this consistent with my brand?
- What message am I sending to my audience?
- Will this reach the right audience?
If I can answer “yes” to all three, I know the post aligns with my social media strategy, which will help me move closer to achieving my brand’s goals.

04 Try social listening
When we talk about quality content, we can’t overlook the importance of social listening.
Social listening is monitoring all social media channels where people talk about you – even if you are not there, like forums, blogs, or podcasts.
As the name suggests, it’s all about listening to your audience. Understanding their needs and conversations can elevate your social media content to a new level!
How to do it:
Start by selecting the right social media tool. I know there are many options, which can be overwhelming—especially if you’re hearing about social listening for the first time.
Here are three key categories to consider when choosing a tool:
- Access to a wide range of social media platforms and non-social channels – don’t forget podcasts, blogs, and forums! These are great sources of feedback and conversation.
- User-friendly interface—seriously, you will spend a lot of time using this tool, so it should be enjoyable and easy to use for you.
- AI-powered tool – this is a must to keep up-to-date, even on a big scale.
Try the best social listening tool!
With a good social listening tool, you can track brand mentions, analyze sentiment, and identify trends in real-time. This helps you tailor content to your audience, engage effectively, and detect potential crises early.
Plus, you can track not only your online performance but also your competitors!
Brand24 can also capture untagged mentions, helping to get a more complete picture of the conversation. By having all analyzed mentions from key social channels in one place, my time spent on analytics has decreased. Thanks, AI!
This has greatly improved my social media marketing efforts, allowing me to focus more on strategy and engagement instead of manually tracking every mention.

05 Experiment with posting times
Timing matters more than you think!
People have different schedules, and engagement isn’t just about audience demographics. It’s also about their daily routines and preferences.
Some audience segments are more active during specific times, like morning commutes, lunch breaks, or weekends.
That’s why there isn’t one simple answer: What is the best time to post on social media?
The type of product or service you offer also plays a significant role. A coffee shop might see higher engagement in the morning, while a streaming service could peak in the evening.
How to do it:
Finding your audience’s behavior patterns might sound complicated and could take months of observation. But it doesn’t have to be!
- Use platform insights – Native platforms like Instagram Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc., or advanced tools.
- Test different times.
- Consider time zones & seasonality – Holidays or breaks can change engagement times.
- Post regularly – It helps with the algorithm and builds audience trust.
I like to use advanced tools that combine all my key social media platforms in one place. I can get a comprehensive overview of all my social media accounts and each social media app.
It helps me plan my social media content calendar, saving time and ensuring I post regularly and am better organized across all channels.

06 Make the Most of User-Generated Content (UGC)
Social media advertising is powerful. But nothing beats the authenticity and influence of good old-fashioned word-of-mouth!
After all, people trust more other customers’ reviews, their friends or family, than polished ads. That’s why UGC is so valuable — it’s real, relatable, and builds credibility.
How to do it:
- Encourage customers to share – create a branded hashtag, hold a contest, or ask your followers to tag you in their posts.
- Turn reviews into posts – Have a great review? Turn it into a graphic with a quote, a carousel, or a short video.
- Include UGC in your ads & product pages.
UGC isn’t just content; it’s social proof in action. Let your community help tell your brand story!

07 Collaborate with influencers.
Influencer marketing is a must in 2025 — but have you ever considered working with micro-influencers?
Unlike top influencers, micro-influencers are more credible and authentic in their recommendations – they are not yet seen as overly commercial. Their accounts are growing fast, and with them, so are you 😉
Plus, micro-influencers are often more personally involved in the brand and social media campaigns — which is a social media best practice for building long-term brand loyalty.
How to do it:
My advice? Use AI tools to identify already engaged influencers in your niche. Here you can see the analysis by Brand24:

08 Elevate Your Storytelling with Customer Insights
“Facts tell, stories sell.”
Storytelling is your secret weapon to stand out, position yourself in the market, and manage your brand’s reputation.
But your story isn’t static — it evolves.
That’s why it’s crucial to use social media to share your story and shape it based on real-time audience feedback.
Social media is a powerful tool for understanding what your audience cares about. You create a more authentic and consistent brand image when you listen to your audience and adjust your narrative to match their needs and preferences.

How to do it?
- Listen and adapt – Social listening tools monitor conversations and feedback.
- Engage regularly — Just like any relationship, consistency matters. If you disappear, you risk losing the trust and attention of your audience.
- Involve your audience—Think Q&A sessions, live events, behind-the-scenes content, and exclusive discounts for community members. Make them feel like insiders!
09 Benefits from AI Recommendations
AI tools are game-changers for staying ahead in social media. One of the most valuable features? AI recommendations.
Why?
AI tools allow you to understand better your audience’s needs, spot emerging trends on platforms like Facebook, and much more!
How to do it?
- Analyze audience behavior—Use AI tools to track how your audience engages with your content, then adjust your approach based on those insights.
- Run A/B tests—Try different variations of your content to see which one performs best based on AI-driven recommendations.
I’ve tested ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Brand24’s AI recommendations myself.
ChatGPT, Perplexity provides more generic answers, and there needs to be a double check always.
Conversely, Brand24 recommendations are based on your internal data, so they are personalized and trustworthy.
That means you’re not just getting general advice—you’re getting data-backed, customized recommendations aligned with your brand’s actual performance and audience behavior. 👌

10 Be Consistent Across All Channels
Whenever I conduct a social media audit for brands, I’m often surprised by how inconsistently they approach different platforms.
Consistency is key when it comes to building a strong brand presence. Your audience should experience the same tone, message, and visual identity whether they encounter your brand on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or your website.
How to do it:
- Match visual content: Colors, fonts, and logos are consistent across all platforms. This helps with brand recognition.
- Customize your tone of voice: Adjust the tone to fit the platform (fun and light on TikTok, professional on LinkedIn), but keep the core brand voice intact.
- Cross-promote: Don’t be afraid to promote content across platforms to create brand continuity and ensure you reach as many people as possible.
Create a body map post for your content team. Include:
- Headline
- Body
- Emoji & hashtag references
- CTA
- Visual Style
And provide them with examples for each social media platform.
A consistent brand voice and style reinforce brand recognition and make it easier for people to connect with your content—no matter where they find you.
11 Master social media SEO
SEO may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of social media.
But it’s becoming increasingly important in how content is discovered and shared on social networks.
Like traditional SEO, it’s all about using the right keywords, optimizing your content, and making it easy for your audience to find. Improving your social media SEO can increase your visibility, boost engagement, and help your content reach the right people.
So, how do you do it?
- Use keywords in your captions – Think about the words your audience might search for when looking for content in your niche.
- Leverage hashtags – They still work! The right hashtags help your content strategy reach the right people.
- Tap into local SEO – If your business operates in a specific city, region, or country, include location-based keywords or mention relevant events and celebrations.
- Optimize images and videos – Use proper tags, titles, and keywords in metadata to help visual content rank better.
Keep it balanced – Optimization is key, but overloading a post with 30 keywords and 10 hashtags can feel spammy. Less is more!

13 Optimize your profile and bio
Make your customer journey pleasurable.
Your profile is like your digital storefront—it’s the first thing people see when they land on your page, so make sure it’s doing its job!
A well-optimized profile and bio can boost discoverability, build credibility, and help new followers instantly understand what you’re all about.
So, how do you do it?
- Use precise, searchable keywords – Include industry-relevant keywords in your bio to help people find you more easily.
- Keep it short – Let people know who you are, what you do, and why they should follow you.
- Include a trackable link – Use a link-in-bio tool to direct followers to your website, latest offers, or multiple destinations in one click.
Your profile is your first impression—make it count!
14 The rise of employee-generated content (EGC)
Employee-generated content (EGC) is a powerful yet often overlooked tool in building brand authenticity and engagement.
EGC refers to content created by employees showcasing their experiences, insights, or culture within the company.
This humanizes the brand, provides a behind-the-scenes look, and fosters a sense of internal and external community. Which will be gained in response to AI!
How to do it:
- Provide simple tools for employees to create content.
- Inspire them & listen to their idea.
- Use employee feedback – A good review from them is a game changer for your brand reputation!
- Create spotlights for them – These can be special highlights on Instagram or regular content such as interviews, day vlogs, etc.
Boost your brand with resonating content!
15 Encourage action
Let your audience take the next step!
Whether encouraging them to buy a product, share a post, sign up for a newsletter, or engage with your brand, a call to action provides clear direction and motivates them to take action.
Without a strong call to action, the message can be lost, leaving recipients unsure how to engage further.
Here’s a list of some more examples:
16 Be updated
Trends change faster than tickets to your favorite concert disappear, so it’s always worth keeping this in mind.
Social media best practices or trends can change in a matter of days. That’s why it pays to be prepared and have trusted sources to help you keep your finger on the pulse.
How to do it:
- Follow trusted social media newsletters – Regularly subscribe to and read social media newsletters that provide the latest information on changes and trends across platforms.
- Keep up with trusted brands and influencers—Observe industry leaders, experts, and brands pioneering social media to stay current on what strategies and trends are attracting attention.
- Get involved in industry groups and forums – Join groups on LinkedIn, Facebook, or online forums like Reddit, where people share their best social media practices.
Remember that the key to success is to react quickly and adapt your content to current events.
