How to track multiple hashtags on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook?

No matter if you manage Instagram profile for your own use, for some organization, business, or a client, there is always a moment you wonder how to track multiple hashtags. Been there.

As you probably already checked, Instagram internal search doesn’t allow you to search more than one hashtag. And that could be a real pain.

The good news is that I have a solution!

It works for my professional and personal purposes, it will work for you too. Oh, and it’s a totally safe and legal way – don’t be afraid, it doesn’t require your Instagram login credentials.

Here’s what you need to do to search multiple hashtags on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook:

1. Create an account in Brand24. You can use a free trial which is available here.
Set up the first project. Here’s a video tutorial on how to do this:

Enter the #mainhashtag as the keyword you want to follow. It could be your brand hashtag for example. Let say it’s #Brand24.

Brand24 media monitoring project

From this moment, the tool starts collecting mentions with your keyword from all over the Internet. You’ll have some data in the beginning, but I recommend you wait a little and let the tool work and gain new, latest data in a real time.

PRO TIP: set up a monitoring project before you begin your campaign or start a project. That way you’ll get the most accurate results.

2. BRAND24 collects mentions from all over the web, from social media (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and more) to websites and blogs. You will see all those mentions in the dashboard.

So, the next thing is to filter results by source. If you want to see, for example, only Instagram posts, all you need to do is to click on the Instagram icon:

3. Now, in the mentions tab, you can see all Instagram posts published with your #mainhashtag. You can set the date range and use any other filter in the right column.

4. Ok, but where are my multiple hashtags results?
Keeping my example of tracking #Brand24 hashtag, now I want to see all posts with #Brand24 and #marketing hashtags.

Type the second hashtag in the internal search, like this:

And voila! The results below contain both of them!
This is the easy and proven way you can follow multiple hashtags.

Want more? NO PROBLEM 🙂

If you want to see posts with the set of hashtags which contains more than two, also use internal search but with {AND} operator.

Let’s say I need to track posts with #Brand24, #marketing, and #event to track all posts with our presence on the marketing events.

Isn’t it genius?

5. If you need any analyses of estimated social media reach, sentiment, engagement, or influence of those posts, go to the Analysis tab.
It’s also narrowed by filters and search results, so you’re able to get some conclusions easily.

Now you can take your hashtag campaigns management and analyses to the next level!

Set up your monitoring project and start tracking multiple hashtags now.
